General Chronology
OSM Notice Procedures
Typically, the OSM receives notice regarding our actions by various means. These are as
follows: (Note -There are sometimes details which vary; please call with any questions.)
Revisions to Permits
~~~~~
DEPARTMEN"I' OF
NATURAL
RESOURCES
Roy Romer
Governor
lames 5. Lochhead
ExecNive Direcia
Michael B. Long
Division Director
- Usually both OSM Denver and Albuquerque receive "completeness" notifications at the
initiation of technical revisions, permit revisions, permit renewals, and new permits.
Specific actions need to be checked to ensure that this occurred for a particular action.
- Typically, the operator sends all revised permit materials, for federal mines, to both OSM
Denver and OSM Albuquerque. This happens at the beginning of a revision process if the
OSM has a need to conduct a concurrent review (some technical revisions, all permit
revisions and all new permits). Otherwise, materials are sent to OSM Denver and
Albuquerque at the end of the process.
Revised materials for private mines are sent to OSM Albuquerque at the end of the process.
- Fach month, we send a monthly report to the OSM Albuquerque which contains all
approved revision forms and inspections.
- Ongoing program oversight, including both random mine site inspections and in-house
document review, occurs to varying degrees each year.
Mari Mine Chronology (Specific [o the Federal NOV/TDNI
(Note: Chronology is not all inclusive; please refer to document copies sent under separate cover
for details.)
7/13/90 Technical Revision No. 7 (Post-mining topography) -Approved. No
evidence in our fdes of completeness letter sent to OSM. However, OSM
inspector Austin's deposition verifies that the TR-07 materials were available
