Primary, Sernndary, and Incidental Products to be Produced <br />The primary products produced from the Li11y Mines is white marble to be used for <br />cultured mazbie production, pool construction, and landscape rock. The high quality <br />calcium cazbonate may also be used in cement production and environmental control uses <br />such as acidic soils mitigation. Mazble production will also include raw material for the <br />manufacturing of joint compound products. <br />Lower (near US50) Staging Area <br />The one-acre staging azea located 900' East of the intersection of US Highway 50 and <br />Forest Service Road 228 is covered for entry and use under FS Road Permit SAL-378. <br />However, USFS District Management has determined that the Forest Service will allow <br />no stockpiling of material or storage of equipment more than twenty-four hours. The <br />area will be used for truck turn out and loading/unloading of mining equipment during <br />mobilization procedures. <br />Forest Service Road 228 from US Highway 50 to above Mine Site <br />This 17.8 acre area encompasses a 60' m;n;mum affected land boundary along Forest <br />Service Road 228 from the intersection of US Highway 50 and FS Road 228 <br />approximately 2.2 miles to southern boundary of the permit area. US Forest Service <br />documentation included in this submittal refers to special use permit SAL-378, a US <br />Forest Service conditional use permit for road use and maintenance. <br />Relocation of Forest Service Road 228 Within Affected Land $oundaries <br />Initial plans for road re-location have been modified to allow for maximum flexibility <br />with USFS during the period of time necessary to meet all potential NEPA requirements <br />prior to submittal of a formal re-location plan to the DMG. USFS personnel have <br />verbally approved an interim plan to extend FS Road 228 along the western side of the <br />containment berm from it's present location west of the Taylor Gulch crossing <br />northwards along the berm to the northern end of the presently disturbed area. A <br />notarized letter approving this interim measure has been requested and will be fotwazded <br />to DMG as soon as it is available. In addition, the initial Taylor Gulch crossing and rip- <br />rap channel has been constructed to allow for high cleazance vehicle access until the <br />proposed in-site road re-location is completed (2007). Existing Road 228 will not be <br />mixed or removed prior to receipt of written USFS approval ofroad re-location. <br />Moreover, an alternative public access road using the roadway built to access the AML <br />alit opening located in the southeastern corner of the proposed affected land may be <br />considered for use. Regazdless of the alternative selected for public access in the future, <br />a permit amendment will likely be required. Colorado Mazble, Inc., plans on developing <br />a long-range road re-location plan for FS Road 228 that will be submitted within the next <br />two to three years. <br />13 <br />
