The northern portion of the Expansion <br />Area South is bare ground from heavy traffic use. Plains cottonwood trees occur in small clusters <br />around the edges of the area. There are several buildings at the eastern edge of the area. Most of <br />the remaining azea is an old prairie dog town. Most of the holes appeared inactive. The southern <br />portion of the Expansion Area South is fenced off and is grazed by horses. Tires and metal debris <br />are scattered throughout the fenced area. <br />Table J-2 shows the types of vegetative communities, describes the dominant species in each <br />community, and provides the estimated aerial extent (approximate acreage) for each community. <br />The vegetative communities are further described in the following paragraphs. <br />1898-Frei 112 Ezhibits_(4.20.05).doc 1-2 <br />
