Exhibi(D-Mining Plarc <br />Expansion Area South <br />Expansion Area South will be mined afrer completion of mining in Expansion Area North. This <br />area will be mined over an additional three-year period, with reclamation completed within the <br />next two to three years. Before this area is mined, a Technical Revision will be submitted to <br />include associated operational, hydrologic, and bonding changes to this permit. Expansion Area <br />South will be mined using the same method described for Expansion Area North. <br />Dust control measures will follow the dust control plan approved for this operation. Dust <br />suppression at the crusher will be achieved by water spray during dumping, in a mostly enclosed <br />dump hopper, and at conveyor belt transfers to maintain dust within regulated levels. Water for <br />dust suppression on roadways and in the removal of overburden will be applied by water truck, as <br />required. <br />Surface Water Management Plan <br />Storm water and dewatering water from Expansion Areas will be routed to the settling basin, <br />allowed to settle, and then discharged to the South Platte River under existing CDPS Permit No. <br />COG-500233. The discharge permit and Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP) previously <br />prepared for the Worthing Pit will be updated to include the Expansion Areas. <br />1898-Frei ] I2 Exhibi[s_(4.20.05).doc D-6 <br />
