Cotter Response
Cotter deposits waste material underground in old stopes
as opportunity presents. For example, in 1982, 21,000 tons of
waste were not trammed to the surface, but were deposited
underground.
Cotter cannot, however, prepare a plan or schedule for
depositing a specific volume of waste underground beca~ise the
opportunity to do so is a function of the proximity of mining
to available stopes, which in turn is a function of or~a body
configuration, market conditions and cutoff grade.
E.3 Comment:
Upon completion of mining and the removal of the :structure,
why would it be necessary to provide fire truck access on the
borehole/adit access road?
Cotter Response
The mine site and the borehole/adit access road provides
the fastest approach to the northern portion of the White
Ranch Open Space. If access is precluded, in the event of a
fire it would be necessary to drive to Golden Gate State Park,
then northward across the entire open space area.
E.4. Comment:
In the statement, "Referring to Exhibit F, Reclamation Map,
the reclaimed waste dump will cover approximately 6 acres of
surface area." which waste dump is the operator referring to?
Cotter Response
Total surface area covered by both dumps is about 6 acres.
-8-
