~ '1
letter addressed to this Division. Attached is Mr. Frazier's letter.
On Monday, July 21, 1997, the Division sent an inspector, Mr. Bill Carter, to the mine
site to investigate the dust and blast problems. Mr. Carter will be in the area all week and
will attempt to document the nature of any dust problems.
As I had mentioned in our July 21, 1997 telephone conversation, we are informing the
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment of this citizen complaint of
alleged dust pollution at the Bowie No. 2 Mine in the hope of resolving this matter. Please
keep us informed as to the results of your investigation, and we will keep you informed of
the results of our investigation concerning the alleged dust problem. If there is any
additional information that you need, please call me. Thank you for your attention in this
matter.
Sincerely,
D.~.~Q
ose h J. ~udash
P
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Doug Frazier (Hidden Valley Ranch and Cattle Company, Inc.)
Bill Bear Jr. (Bowie Resources Ltd.) with enclosure
David Berry (DMG)
Enclosure
c:\wp61 \bowie2\health I
