Additional shaping may take place
on the mine side to stabilize that slope but it will generally be
left as it is now. in addition, the area shown as Stage A has
been incorporated into Stage S and Stage S has been reshaped to
correspond with the change to the shape of the berm.
Amendment # 7 - ADDITION OF RESERVOIRS
Part of the change to this plan is to include creating two
water storage reservoirs on the site. The eastern reservoir,
Lake Albert, is for water Albert Frei and Sons, Inc., owns and
will be used to develop the property. A court approved plan is
in place to allow construction and filling of this reservoir as
needed. The second reservoir, Frei Lake, is on the west side of
the site and will be made available for use by interested par-
ties, needing a place to store water. Development of who will
store water in it will begin as the area is excavated. The above
water slopes around Frei Lake will be mined using the vertical
bench technology currently being employed. This allows it to be
tucked into the northwest corner of the site. This location
places it in a natural basin that will be protected from the
surrounding areas. Albert Frei and Sons, Inc., has obtained
approval from the State Engineer to construct Lake Albert, a 310
acre foot, in ground reservoir, along the south side of the
building envelope. in addition, Frei Lake, a 1200+ acre foot, in
ground reservoir, is proposed in the northwest part of the new
area. This reservoir would provided much needed water storage
for the surrounding community in the future.
The plan is to create a cooperative agreement between local
water providers and Frei when the reservoir is nearing comple-
tion. If for some reason no water is available the area will be
developed under the building envelope plan in that it will be
graded and left unseeded until developed. It will also serve as
7
