ExNlsrr D
MINING PLAN (CONT)
H®m Avon 2002
slope. Filling will leave a slope that is 3h to 1 vertical and
will match the upper parts of the mountain above the site. The
cross section in Figure D-1 on page 11 shows how the benches
would look during mining. The cross hatched area is the fill we
will place to create a uniform 3h to lv slope. If at any time we
find we do not have enough fill to recreate the slope we will
mine on a 3h to 1 slope, so it will match what is shown on the
map. As the mine face on this new area reached face in the
existing area they will joined to create a single working face
advancing across the property.
During planning it was determined that the mine face would
advance approximately 145 feet per year in this area. That was
the using to determined that no more than 1,000 linear feet of
north slope area will be left open for filling at one time. IT
is estimated that it will take 25 to 35 years before mining began
on this north slope area.
within this area backfilling will be taking place on the
west end as mining progresses on the east end and the area
between will be used to store reclamation material until needed.
As the area in front of the mine face is stripped and made ready
for mining, the overburden will be placed in the backfill area.
This will allow us to only handle it once and as the waste fines
are produced they will also be place in the backfill area.
Figure D-2 on page 12 shows the areas of mining in Stage I and
estimates how much time it would take to mine each area. These
areas are used to show the life of the mined area and do not
represent any particular mining direction, development plans or
exact time periods.
Amendment # 6 - FRONT BERM
The county permit requires that the front berm be left as it
is now. This berm is the hill lying between the two access roads
6
