And f'or the <br />2 tailings, the sulfuric acid will lower the pH to <br />3 about 7.6, 7.7. And based on our test results, the_ <br />4 levels of cyanide in the tailings will be less than <br /> <br />5 3.8 parts per million free cyanide. <br />6 At that point the slurry is sepnt to the <br />7 tailings disposal area for disposal. I'm going to <br />8 give a brief discussion of the tailings disposal <br />9 area and then I'll let Rob Dorey, at the end of my <br />10 presentation, go into depth on that. <br />I 11 The point that I want to make 'is that <br />12 this is not a traditional tailings impoundment. <br />13 This is a unique design concept. There arle no other <br />14 tailings impoundments, to my knowledge, lipce this in <br />I 15 the state of Colorado, although it is usedlquite <br />16 commonly in other parts of the U.S. and the world. <br />17 This tailings facility design is a <br />18 method called thin layer deposition. As I,said, Rob <br />J 19 will get into the design concepts, but I wlant to <br />1 20 explain to you the difference between traditional <br />21 tailings disposal and thin layer deposition. <br />' 22 Traditional tailings disposaliusually <br />23 occurs using one or two deposition points and the <br />24 stuff is just put out there in a pipe.
