Demolition of the pumpstation (DMG Task 20a - $55,547) is discussed in TR-12
as is the general topic of buffer areas (DMG Task 20g - $3159). The remaining
parts of Task 20 (20b, 20c, 20d, 20e, 20f) should be deleted, reducing the total FW
cost for these line items from $95,900 to $0.
3.8 Henderson 2000 Overland Conveyor Components -DMG #24
The overland conveyor system, part of the Henderson 2000 project, was
incorporated into the Henderson Permit through approval of AM-03. This
component of the Permit and of the FW was added as Area 24. Unlike other
e-ements of the Permit, approval of AM-03 also incorporated conditions of the U.S.
Forest Service (USES) relative to the land exchange required at that time.
Changes to USES conditions are not being proposed herein. However, using "as-
built" data and more recent costing experience, Henderson has revisited the
costing estimates initially derived for, and approved under, AM-03 (the cost
estimates included in DMG's FW calcuM4b11~). In reviewing the AM-03 cost
estimates, Henderson evaluated the contglyQr system in its entirety. Demolition
costs were based upon $0.13 per cubic foot of material as per Climax and TR-12.
Likewise, non-hazardous solid waste materials will be buried on site rather than
hauled off-site to a public landfill. This issue also was addressed in TR-12.
The cost of DMG Task 24e, compacting and covering the demolished snowshed,
was recalculated by EEE to be $18,075, an increase of $2125. The cost of DMG
Task 24c, removal of conveyor foundations from the wetlands, was removed
because the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 404 Permit for this site requires that
foundations be left in place.
Revised estimates were calculated by EEE. EEE also provided costing
calculations to Climax used in development of the FW for that site. EEE's
complete report including all supporting data, calculations and sketches, is
included in Exhibit H. A summary of estimated demolition costs, including unit
costs and references, for the entire conveyor system is found in Exhibit H, Table 1.
Structural demolition of the Henderson conveyor system including compacting
and covering the snowshed (DMG Tasks 24a and 24e) were estimated to cost a
total of $1,484,149 (adjusted for location). Henderson's new estimate based on
the data provided by EEE is $251,787 (adjusted for location), a reduction in the
total FW of $1,232,362.
t0
