obtained and delivered at no cost. Both Climax and Henderson receive numerous
unsolicited calls on a regular basis inquiring as to whether the mines want any of
these materials.
As DMG is aware, the biosotids program at Climax has been an award winning
success and produces a quality reclamation oriented amendment. Henderson is
considering a similar program at its site but has yet to make a final decision.
Should Henderson decide on such an approach, it will discuss with DMG
incorporation of the program into the Permit.
Based on the fact that these two organic materials are readily available at no cost,
Henderson believes that Task 01p should, at this time, be reduced to $0, a
reduction in the total FW of $57,600.
3.3 Remove Exhaust Collar and Seal Vent Shaft -DMG #02a
Henderson does not understand either how DMG arrived at the $19,938 cost of
doubling due to location or, more importantly, the need for this cost. Doubling the
cost to location is neither appropriate nor necessary. The task utilizes a helicopter
suitable for that altitude. Once the helicopter accesses the site, all issues relative
to sealing and closure are the same. Henderson believes strongly that this task
item should be reduced by $19,938.
3.4 Surface Railroad Area -DMG #04
3.4.1 Structural Demolition: PC2 Drivehouse -DMG #/04a
DMG listed the PC2 conveyor drive house and its demolition costs in Task 04a.
However, this structure and its demolition costs were covered in AM-03 for
Henderson 2000 and were included in the line item costs in Area 24. Thus, the
costs included in Task 04a are repetitive and should be deleted, resulting in a total
unadjusted FW reduction of $551,113.
3.4.2 Maintenance Fertilize Railroad Area -DMG #04e
DMG's Task 04e is estimated on maintenance fertilization of this area six times.
Henderson finds no reference to this amount of fertilization in the original Permit
(Section 9.11) and believes that the maintenance fertilization rates for the portal
area (DMG Task 03g) are more appropriate. Task 04e uses a unit cost of $192
7
