As you may recall from your site visit in mid-September, BMRI is
following a concurrent mining and reclaiming program. At the
time of your inspection, we toured topsoil stockpile #1 and waste
rock area B where grading and topsoiling activities had been
completed. We also toured waste rock C where grading activities
were in progress. Since your September visit, topsc~l
stockpile ,~2, waste rock areas C and D, and the first lift of the
East Pit backfill have been graded, and topsoil spread on waste
rock D and the East Pit. Approximately 60 acres of outslopes on
waste rock areas have been graded to 3H:1V slopes and topsoiled
as required in our approved permit.
Based on information from the approved reclamation plan and bond
calculations, outslope grading and topsoil replacement for the
completed 60 acres would amount to approximately $388,000 worth
of reclamation work. At this time, BMRI does not plan to request
an incremental bond release. With the completed reclamation
activities and the insignificant reclamation costs for the
warehouse addition in comparison to the overall reclamation plan,
BMRI proposes that the existing bond sufficiently covers all
reclamation costs associated with the warehouse addition.
The $150 technical revision processing fee is enclosed.
If you have any questions, please call.
Sincerely,
'~lYOu'14 ~ ~+~-c~+
Alana L.
