EXHIBIT D
MINING PLAN (CONT)
AM89USD APRIL 2002
negates Amendment #3~1985~, that allowed backfilling in the ravine.
As the new road is constructed the fill will be removed and used
in the mine for reclamation.
To build this road a corridor, 1:1 slope from the road
surface up onto the surrounding hillsides will have to created as
explained in the Reclamation Plan. The cross hatched area on the
Mining Plan Map shows the limits of the disturbance area, the
road surface is shown as a dashed line and the perimeter line is
the top of the graded slope. The disturbed area covers approxi-
mately 3.28 ac. ±. The benches will be 10 foot high by 10 foot
wide to create a stable slope along the road. To accomplish
this, we will begin to remove material from the mine side of the
road cut and work south along the proposed route. As the road
progresses, the side slopes will be created and the waste rock
will be removed to the mine area where it will be processed. The
excavated benches will be resoiled and planted with native
grasses and shrubs during each phase of lowering the road.
Initially the road will be steeper than the 78 from the
highway to the saddle midway thru the road corridor. This will
create a rather steep road for the first 300 feet and then level
out so it enters the quarry at the existing floor elevation. It
is estimated the road will be started nearly 80 feet above its
final height when construction begins. As the mine develops the
road will be gradually lowered so it enters the mine at the same
level as the floor. This lowering will continue until the final
mine floor elevation is established. During this time dust
control agents such as magnesium chloride will be used on the
road to control dust. The road, when finished, will be 60 feet
wide and have a 78 slope so it is easily traversed.
Amendment # 9 - SHOP BUILDING ADDITION
B (Revised 8/19/02)
