' • 1
We highly recommend using the native grass species identified on pages 71 and 72 of the Vegetation
section. In addition, we would encourage the use of some species listed in the Main Stabilization Seed
Mix found on page 45, specifically, mountain brome, slender wheatgrass, Peny's oatgrass and prairie
junegrass.
We would also encourage the "Trust" to properly maintain the settling ponds. This would include
inspections and regular cleaning. This would greatly aid in reducing the chances of a breach. If a breach
were to occur, we would expect significant negative impacts to the aquatic ecosystem, including loss of
.k-ish, spawning and habitat degradation, and the destruction /loss of smaller plant and animal life which
the system depends on.
Thank you for giving the CDO W the opportunity to comment.- If you or the applicant has any questions,
please don't hesitate to call local District Wildlife Manager, Mark Lamb at 719-836-2207.
Sincerely
~~
John Hood /Area Wildlife Manager
