Dellacroce <br />To whom it may concern, <br />My wife and I are adjacent property owners to the Dellacroce Gravel Pit. We <br />purchased 17 acres due West of the Dellacroce Pit. Part of our due diligence <br />in purchasing our property in 1994 was to understand the site plan of the pit. <br />Specifically, I was concerned about the possible noise from the trucks back <br />up signals but most importantly the visual impact of the gravel pit from I-25. <br />In the Spring of 1994 prior to my land purchase, I had a meeting with the <br />planner assigned to the gravel pit project by the El Paso County planning <br />department. I was specifically told that the pit would likely not be visible <br />from the interstate. I was also informed that truck noise would not be heard <br />fi•om the pit. I then made a substantial investment in those 17 acres with <br />future plans to relocate some of my family from across the United States to <br />this beautiful, quite and very scenic area. <br />1 am now aware of the proposed sizable expansion of the Gravel Pit. <br />Let me first express the reality of how the pit is today versus what I was <br />informed it would be. Trucks can frequently be heard and the negative visual <br />impact of the pit as it has evolved over the past S years has been substantial. <br />I drive I-25 past the pit twice a day, 5 days a week. It is beginning to ruin <br />one of the more pristine foothill areas left in Northern El Paso County. Not <br />only has this been devastating emotionally, since I place an extremely high <br />value on the beauty of these foothills, but I am certain if the planned <br />
