Page 1 of the application, line 3, shows that Ouray County proposes to add 40.5
acres to the existing 9.5 acre permit area. The Bureau of Land Management in
their November 21, 1995 letter to the Division states that they will not issue a
permit for 50 acres and suggests a permit size of about 28 acres. The Division
recommends that you consider changing your proposed limits of mining boundary
(affected lands boundary) to a permit boundary or redrawing the permit boundary
closer to the affected land boundary in a manner that will satisfy the BLM. You
• will need to change page 1 of the application appropriately and all other sections
of the application, including maps, that show or discuss the permit boundary.
The permit boundary line should be labeled as such or identified in the legend.
2. Page 2 of your application shows Lynn Lewis of the BLM to be the inspection
contact for Ouray County. Please change the inspection contact to a Ouray
• County employee/office holder or a named agent to the county.
EXHIBIT C - Preminin¢ and Mining Plan Maps
t. If the powerline on the west side of the permit area is within 200 feet of land
proposed to be affected by mining or reclamation, show it on the map and
identify the owner. This should also by done for any other permanent manmade
structures within 200 feet of affected land.
2. A section (loop) of the mine access road at the proposed northeast permit
boundary is outside of the boundary. It must be included within the boundary,
even though a portion of the loop will remain unreclaimed upon the completion
of mining. Please make necessary changes to your map. Show the portion of this
loop to be reclaimed.
