Long <br />Division Director <br />The Division received the adequacy review responses for the Beech Hill Quarries Conversion <br />Application, Permit No. M-1981-108. The information was required to be submitted as an <br />amendment to the conversion application due to the addition of acreage after the original <br />submittal of the conversion application (Quarry A- 4 acres and Quarry B- 4.494 acres). In order <br />to facilitate this process, the applicant extended the Division's decision date to May 11, 2001. <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) is required to make an approval or denial <br />decision no later than May 11, 2001, therefore, your response to the following adequacy review <br />concerns should be submitted to the Division as soon as possible. <br />As required by Rule 1.6.2 (1)(g), please submit the proof of re-publication of the public <br />notice circulated in the local newspaper and notice to all owners of record of surface lands, <br />mineral owners, easement holders, and owners of record of surface lands that aze within 200 <br />feet of the boundary of the affected land. Proof of notice may be return receipts of a <br />Certified Mailing or by proof of personal service. <br />Rule 6.4.4 Exhibit D- Mining Plan <br />2. The revised application contains conflicting information regazding leaving highwalls and <br />ponds in place once mining is complete. Please verify to the Division that no highwalls or <br />ponds will be left in place or incorporated into the reclamation plan. <br />3. The revised application contains conflicting information regazding the depth of topsoil and/or <br />the depth of screened fines to be used for reclamation. Please state the depth of material to <br />be replaced, and where such material is stockpiled during the operation (needs to be located <br />on a map). <br />4. The submitted information does not address mining and reclamation of the new quarry areas; <br />"Quarry A" and "Quarry B." The new "Quarry A" is located on fairly steep terrain. For <br />Quarries A and B, the applicant will need to depict the direction of mining, the depth of <br />
