,~
Ms. Erica Crosby
June 4, 1997
Page 2

letter dated June 3rd, basing his statements on experience
working with these types of situations over the years and the
surrounding areas. Without doing the additional drilling to
confirm his observations, he feels the slope would meet the
safety factor desired by the Division.
One final item I would like to bring to the attention of the
Division is similar to what I originally submitted in the
reclamation plan for the cut slope which was submitted on January
10th. Seneca is totally aware of the fact that we will maintain
the roadway safely, and if a slide ever does occur between now
and when the County takes over the maintenance of RCR #27A in the
future, that we will do everything necessary to repair and
remediate any problem that may occur and prevent it to the best
of our abilities from ever happening again. We believe that our
reclamation plan should now be acceptable to the Division, since
we have been doing what the County has required us to do up to
this point in time. Upon approval of our reclamation plan, we
will complete the necessary steps to finish the abatement of the
violation.
Should you or any other members of the Division have any
questions regarding this information, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Sincerely,
Michael G. Altavilla, P.E.
Engineering Manager
Enclosure(s)
c: Gary Wendt (PWCC)
