iiiiiiiiiiiiiiuiii
999
interoffice
M E M O R A N D U M
to: Erica Crosby
from: Larry Routten
subject: yoast NOV C-9 -018
date: June 6, 1997
Yesterday, we received a package from Seneca Coal Company which included a letter from
Brian Len, P. E., of Northwest Colorado Consultants. Based on his observations of the cut slope
made by SCC to facilitate the dragline move to the Yoas[ Mine, Mr. Len has stated that the slope
appeazs to have a minimum static safety factor of 1.3. SCC has also reiterated that they are
responsible for maintenance of the cut slope until such time as maintenance of the portion of the
road inside their permit area is turned back over to Routt County. Based on this information, I
recommend that NOV C-96-018 be terminated. Please send a NOV termination form to SCC as
soon as possible.
