C~
Mr. John T. Doerfer
Page 2
December 6, 1988
7. We would prefer to leave one large "L" shaped pond as proposed,
especially since a large portion of the original pond area
is eliminated by the Wetland Replacement Area. The construction
of the Wetland Replacement Area not only reduces the final area
of the pond, but would also make the shoreline more irregular
and natural appearing.
8. Backfilling will be performed during both dry and wet conditions,
and since no buildings or foundations are planned, the fills
will be placed as loose fills.
9. Gravel crushing will be performed and the existing crusher has
an air pollution control permit.
Under EXHIBIT E RECLAMATION PLAN:
10. The shorelines will not be radically straight, but rather some-
what irregular and will be topsoiled and seeded. Further, the
creation of the wetlands Replacement Area should make a
significant contribution to the DOW recommendations, particularly
on the southern shore.
11. The construction of the Wetland Replacement Area has been
approved and no further 404 should be needed. (Copy of Wetland
Restoration Plan Attached)
12. Topsoil salvage and replacement is planned to a depth of at
least six (6) inches and in many areas will be closer to twelve
(12) inches.
13. Existing topsoil stockpile locations are more than adequate.
Seeding has been done on these. Seeding will also be done as
new topsoil is stockpiled. However, a large part of the new
topsoil will be used in the Wetland Area and on the Business Park
Sites.
14. There are some trees and shrubs existing in the southwest corner
that will be left and trees and shrubs will be added in the
Wetlands Area. Otherwise, it is planned to rely mostly on seeding
and natural growth.
