CYCC has seven (7) areas which fall within the guidelines of Rule
• 4.05.2(3)(a)(b). These are; 1) Pond H area which covers 1.5 acres and is
located south of Pond H and consists of an east facing slope which drains
down to County Road #27's embankment. The area is completely revegetated
which works as a vegetative filter. 2) Pond F area which covers
approximately 5 acres and is located southwest and northeast of Pond F and
consists of a slope which drains down to the west embankment of Pond F.
Water may potentially drain down along the north side of Pond F and
light-use road/railroad embankment. The area is vegetated and serves as a
vegetative filter and will have rock check dam which will additionally
filter surface runoff prior to exiting the site. 3) Railroad Spur Extension
area - covers 2.75 acres and is located west of Pinnacle Peak adjacent to
the railroad embankment. A portion of this exemption is a seeded topsoil
stockpile. All water drains to the south and is filtered through a silt
fence located west of the extension. The area below the silt fence is
vegetated and serves as a vegetative filter. 4) Warehouse/shop area-covers
5.88 acres and is located on a north facing slope below the shops. Water
drains through established vegetation, gathers along the railroad track
embankment and runs along ditch F-2 toward the culvert under the light-use
road adjacent to Pond F. The water impounds before the culvert before
flowing through the culvert. Once through the culvert it will flow down the
north side of Pond F and the light-use road/railroad embankment. The area
is vegetated and serves as a vegetative filter to inhibit flow. There will
also be a rock check dam which will additionally filter surface runoff prior
to exiting the site. 5) This fifth small area exemption involves 8.3 acres
of reclamation at Mine 2. The area was seeded in 1982 and the north, east,
and south sides are bordered by band released reclamation. Runoff from the
area is minimal due to the high percentage of vegetative cover. 6) Tipple
#2 Loadout Tunnel which consists of a small disturbed area surrounding the
tunnel on the east side as identified on Permit Renewal Map 5 (Roads,
Powerlines and Facilities). The surrounding area is well vegetated and
rock/gravel filter dams have been installed in the ditches along the
railroad track. This small area exemption was approved by the CMLRD on June
23, 1988 with MR-88-27. 7) Stoker Coal Loadout which covers 1.8 acres and
is located north of the old Equipment Parking Lot and adjacent to the
r
L_J
t•IR 89-4U Permit Renewal 780-208-2 Revised 06/28/89
