Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan (continued)
The revegetated area will be monitored for success of reclamation until accepted by the Division.
If revegetation failures occur prior to release, an analysis of the site will be made and the area will be
revegetated again as necessary.
7. Monitoring Reclamation Success
Monitoring the reclamation on an ongoing basis will allow minor revisions to assure successful
reclamation. The operator plans to use the local SCS office in Lamar to assist in determining the
perennial cover of the reclaimed land. If minor changes or modifications are needed to the seeding
and reclamation plan, revision plans will be submitted to the Division as required. It is hoped that the
Division will provide assistance in evaluating the success of the ongoing reclamation process. All
areas disturbed and reclaimed and any other important items regarding the reclamation will be
submitted in the annual reports to the Division.
8. Environmental Protection Measures Employed by the Operation
Mitigation measures taken by the operator are listed below:
]. I3o more than 141.8 acres of the site will disturbed at any given time.
2. Once the initial operation advances sufficiently in each phase to create an area behind the lake
which is sufficient for soiling and reseeding, the operation will move as a unit and will mine and
reclaim approximately 153 acres each year.
3. All runoff from the mine area will be contained on site. All runoff from the plant area will be
passed through a designed sedimentation.
4. All topsoil stockpiles will be temporarily seeded so minimize erosion until their use in final
reclamation.
5. The reclamation plan wil I create a diverse habitat with lakes, agricultural land and wetlands which
will be valuable for wildlife habitat.
6. All fuels, grease, lubricants and other hazardous materials will be stored in approved containers
with containment facilities that protect against spills from contaminating the surrounding ground and
offsite areas.
7. Spray bars on crushing equipment and aggressive watering of haul roads and the plant area will
minimize fugitive dust and its visual impact.
Mid-Western Farms Resources Pit Amendment 3198 9 3
