RE: Bowie No. 1 Mine, Permit No. C-81-038, Permit Renewal No. 4 Adequacy Review
Dear Mr. Stover:
The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) has finished its review of Bowie
Resource Limited's (BRL) responses, dated May 15, 2003, to the Division's adequacy review
letter dated April 30, 2003 for Permit Renewal No. 4 for the Bowie No. 1 Mine. The following is
the final status of the review. All of the Division's concerns have been answered satisfactorily.
The Division will issue a proposed decision to approve the Permit Renewal No. 4 for the Bowie
No. 1 Mine.
Section 2.03.4, Identification of Interests
Please update the identification of interests information that is required in Sections
2.03.4(1) through (1 D) of the permit application, where applicable. The updates should
include, but not be limited to, ownership and control information that is required in
Section 2.03.4(3) and (4), the list of the owners of record ofsurface areas to be affected
and the list of owners of record of the coal to be mined, as required in Section 2.03.4(6)
and the list of the owners of record of the surface and subsurface areas that are
contiguous to the permit area that is required in Section 2.03.4(7).
The Division has already contacted Bowie Resources Limited (BRL) concerning the
updating of the ownership and control information. It is the Division's understanding
that the parent company of BRL has been changed to Horizon Natural Resources
Company. Please update the ownership and control information accordingly.
The Division has no further concerns. BRL presented information in a submittal dated
March 17, 2003. Additional information was included in the submittal dated May 15,
2003. This question was originally dealt with in the Division's adequacy review letter
dated April 11, 2003.
