Cut and fill estimates of the minesite and office area indicate
that 4,960 yds of soil material are available for excavation.
The final profile on the office and minesite profiles indicate
a need for 5,309 cu yds of fill material to achieve the post
mining contours. This leaves an excess of 600 yds of soil
material.
The 4.9 acre surface facilities area will require 3,900 yards
of soil material to cover the area with a minimum thicKness of
six inches. There are 5,000 cu yds excess soil material from
the waste disposal site. The regrading of the surface
facilites area will result in an excess of 600 yds of material.
This 600 yds along with the 5,000 yds excess from the waste
disposal site will be used to cover the surface facilites area
with a minimum of six inches of soil.
The disturbed areas will be graded to create a maximum slope of
2:1 (see Drawings 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F, 2G, 2H: Existing and
Final Cross Sections - Cross Sections A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H,
I; J, K, L; Drawings 2I, 2J, 2K, 2L, 2M: Existing and Final
Cross Sections - Cross Sections A1, B1, C1, D1, E1, Ff, G1, H1,
I1; and Drawings 9, 10, 11, and 12: Existing and Final Cross
Sections - Cross Sections 0+50, 1+00, 1+50, 2+00, 2+50, 3+OD,
3+50, 4+00, 4+507. The post-mining topography of the area is
shown on Drawings 5, 6, and 7: Postminirtg Contours and Final
Contours. The Lambert report (March 14, 19857 indicates a
safety factor of 2.8 for the reclaimed area.
The access road will be relocated as shown on Drawings 5 and 6:
Postmining Contours to provide access to the scoria pit located
adJacent to the mining area. The sections of road not
necessary far access to the scoria pit will be removed and
graded to blend the area into the existing topography.
The waste disposal area will be reclaimed after the final
grading of the mining site. This will be done so that any
gxcess spoil material may 6e disposed of in the disposal site.
The waste material will then be covered with two feet of
ion-toxic material. The final contours of the waste disposal
site are shown on Drawing 7: Final Contours.
The waste disposal site will then be seeded with the seed
mixture listed in Table 17: Revegetation Seed Mix. Hand
broadcast seeding methods will be used. Upon successful
revegetation the sediment pond wil be backfilled and seeded
with the Revegetation Seed 1-fix.
The rail loadout structure will be pulled out and the ramp
,pushed back into the area excavated during construction. The
.area will be graded to approximate original contour.
109 Revised 8/89
