<br />~ ~ III ~IIIIIIIIIIIIIII <br />Battle Mountain Goltl <br />313119 Notice of Probable Violation <br />Status & Progress on Abatement Plan Requirements <br />(Permit No: M-88-112) <br />Updated as of August 25, 1992 <br />##*##ki#i#Y##i####Yi*#######i#iii####*#**ik###*i*#**##i#*i~ <br />CONDENSED VERSION - LISTS ONLY STATUS & AUGUST PROGRESS <br />As abatement for the Notice of Violation issued to Battle Mountain Gpld (BMG> <br />on March 31, 1992, the Mined Land Reclamation Board imposed the foll wing <br />abatement requirements, as proposed by the Division with amendments, as noted. <br />(1) Increased Tailings Area Security: j <br />Status: Implemented - BMG submitted acceptable proposal April 3, 1992, <br />and implemented increased security immediately. <br />- BMG increased its hazing staff by 6 people, <br />trained in Cyanide Safety by MSHA on Jul 10, 1992. <br />(2) Assessment of Environmental Impact: <br />Status: Satisfied - BMG submitted acceptable report April 13, 1992. <br />(3) Rccelerated frequency of Environmental Monitoring: <br />Status: Implemented - BMG is complying with the accelerated frequency. <br />- The Division has declined to approve relaxation. <br />(4) Tailings Cyanide Detoxification: I' <br />Status: On Goin - In Compliance <br />August Progress: - BMG continued CYTOX treatment, in accordance with <br />TR-004, through the month of August. <br />- BMG continued Hydrogen Peroxide treatment, in <br />accordance with TR-007, through the month f August <br />- The Division approved TR-O10 on July 31, 1992. <br />- BMRI submitted photographic documentation f the <br />TR-10 construction site, as directed on August 4. <br />- BMG continued construction of the TR-O10 acilities <br />through August. <br />
