W=Q/C,„H'"
= 12 feet
~illway Construction

The spillway will be constructed near the southwest corner of the stonnwater retention
pond as shown in Figure i. The spillway will be approximately 12 feet wide at the base
(at an elevation 6,611.5 feet) and will have 2:1 side slopes. The total length will be
approximately 70 feet. It will be lined with 60 mil HDPE liner installed on 6 inches of
compacted liner bedding. At the downstream edge of the spillway, there will be
approximately 10 feet of riprap installed on geotextile fabric. The riprap will be
approximately 18 inches thick. Details of the spillway are shown in Figure 2.
The riprap material will consist of hard, dense, durable stone, angular in shape and
resistant to weathering. Rounded stone or boulders will not be used. The stone will
have a specific gravity of at least 2.5. The greatest dimension of each piece will be less
than three times its least dimension. Nominal stone size will be 6 inches. Kvaerner, GC-
Ol Specification, Site Work, includes the riprap requirements.
2
Summary o(Kvaemer Calculations
Stormwater Retention Pond Spillway
Techuol Revision Miiung and Reclamation Pemtit
