The sedimentation yield analysis assumed a very active
revegetation program will be utilized to minimize sediment l
yields, This will be an ongoing process during the construction
of each phase. .
The CMLRB requires that the outlet structure for the
sedimentation pond be able to handle the peak discharge from a
25-year, 24-hour storm. The 25-year peak flow for the new
proposed waste pile was determined based upon the following
parameters:
Curve No. 75
Total Runoff 0.48 inches
Time of Concentration = 0.15
Table 6.4 states the peak 25-year, 24-hour discharge which will
occur for each phase.
The existing outlet structure is composed of two inlet structures
along a 24-inch corrugated metal pipe. The first inlet portal
consists of a 12-inch valve at Elevation 6107: The inlet was not
analyzed for discharge capability since the valve is used
strictly for drainage purposes only. The upper emergency
spillway outlet consists of a 24-inch CMP opening at Elevation
6109, with a final dike elevation of 6111.
A hydraulic study was performed using wier and orifice equations
to determine the inlet capacity of the system and Bernoulli's
24
