(GEG) published results of Phase 1 and Phase 2 geotechnicat investigations of the Unaweep Quarry site in reports dated November 9, 2000 and January 19, 2001. The January 19, 2001 report included review of previous reporting including those by state of Colorado, Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG). The previous DMG reporting was considered in developmenk of the scope of services for the January 19, 2001 investigation performed by GEG. We received a letter published by the DMG dated February 23, 2001 in which the Unaweep Quarry owner, Mr. John Schmahl, was requested to respond to a DMG Interoffice memo dated February 22, 2001. The DMG memo makes numerous references to a geotechnicat investigation report prepared by Rhino Engineering. We assume the document referred to by the OMG memo was the report prepared by Geotechnical Engineering Group, Inc. As requested by our client, Rhino Engineering, the purpose of this letter is to respond to the DMG letter dated FebnJary 22, 2001. The DMG memo identifies four geotechnicat concerns: Geotechnical.
