<br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division proposes that an application to <br />renew a valid, existing permit to conduct coal mining and reclamation <br />operations submitted by the Salt Creek Mining Co for the Munger Canyon Mine <br />Mine be approved with conditions. <br />The Munger Canyon Mine operation is iocated in Garfield County, approximately <br />18 miles from Loma, Colorado. The mine is an underground mine with an <br />anticipated maximum production capacity of 149,000 tons per year. The coal to <br />be mined is Federally owned, and the surface to be affected is federally and <br />privately owned. The permit area encompasses approximately 1,048.9 acres in <br />Sections 21, 27, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33 and 34, T7S, R102W; Sections 2, 3 and 4, <br />TBS, R102W; and Section 34, T2N, R3{i, IJte Fieridian. <br />This proposed approval decision is based on a finding that the proposed <br />operation will comply with all requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal <br />Mining Reclamation Act, C.R.S. 34-33-101, et sea., and the regulations <br />promulgated thereunder. <br />Copies of the proposed decision including stipulations, are on file for public <br />inspection at the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division, Room 47.3, <br />Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203 and at the <br />County Clerk's Office in Garfield County, 109 8th Street Ste 303, Glenwood <br />Springs, CO. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by the <br />proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board on the proposed decision. Such request must he made within <br />thirty (30) days of the initial publication of this notice, must he in <br />writing, and must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the <br />request and the objections to the proposed decision. <br />5459G <br />
