Mr. Michael Long
A1av 16, 1995
Pagc 4
Current abatement options
(originally submitted January 11, 1996 in a letter to Erica Crosby)
A preliminary plan for abatement was submitted to CDMG on January 11, 199b. This
plan was prepared by Tom Leidich of TerraMatrix, otu consultant hued to work on this
projcct and submitted to the Division as Technical Revision 30 on April I5, 1996. The
abatcment plan calls for redisturbiog approximately 21 acres to construct the upper section
of 006-NE-2 drainage channel to approximate what is currently approved. This work will
consist of removing 18 inches of revegetated topsoil that was replaced over this area and
cut/fill drainage construction work. A total of 170,000 cubic yard will be moved to
construct the proposed channel. This design will create two drainage channels tributary to
the approved channel 006-NE-2 and will approximate the original contours. Theo
approximately 51,000 cubic yazds of topsoil will be replaced and revegetated. Estimated
cost of this project is $250,000 and will take eight weeks to complete once approval of the
rcvision is received. The current abatement deadline has been extended to July 12, 1996.
