~` <br />3/12/92 Copy of current correspondence sent to Senator Wattenberg. <br />- Second phone complaint that aggregate is being hauled from the <br />East Douglas pit today by a green dump truck with Utah plates. }{a,,~lc~ ~~ <br />~i-~ An -i/~2~4n <br />3/12/92 Received letter from Mrs. Sims - Detailed the Sim's activities after <br />the 2/26/92 Board Meeting. The letter recounts that Mr. Sims went <br />to the pit on 2!28/92 and found Rio Blanco County hauling out of the <br />pit. Mr. Sims went to the Rio Blanco County shop and told Ben <br />Steele they were shut down at the East Douglas Pit. <br />3/16/92 Received letter from Mrs. Sims - letter detailed mistakes made on <br />dates of events in previous 2 letters. She says she was in <br />compliance with the C & D Order on 2/28/92 and that Rio Blanco <br />County was notified the pit was shut down by Mr. Sims on 3/2/92. <br />3/16/92 Received letter of concern from Division of Wildlife in Rangely. <br />3/16/92 Received letter from Mrs. Sims - submitted $700.00 bond amount to <br />Division and waived 20-day notice period to hear the possible <br />violation at the March Board meeting. <br />3/17192 Fax from Mrs. Sims to the Division - letter addressing all Division <br />adequacy concerns in a satisfactory manner. <br />3/17/92 Copy of current correspondence sent to Senator Wattenberg. <br />3/18/92 Reason to Believe letter of Possible Violation of violating a Board <br />C & D Order sent to Mrs. Sims. <br />3/19/92 Division approved the amendment application and the Cease and Desist <br />Order is lifted when Mrs. Sims receives a copy of the approval. <br />3/20/92 Division faxed a copy of the approval letter to Mrs. Sims and <br />another copy of the complaintant's letter. <br />3/20/92 Received second letter of complaint concerning a possible violation <br />of the Cease & Desist Board Order. Gravel was hauled from the a pit <br />on the weeks of 3/8/92 and 3/15/92. A green dump truck was observed <br />on the property on 3/17/92. <br />3/23/92 Copy of current correspondence delivered to Senator Wattenberg. <br />Copy of second letter of complaint faxed to Mrs. Sims. <br />Mr. Sims indicated the green truck with Utah plates is property of a <br />roustabout company that works for Conoco. The Sims have had <br />business with Conoco in the past. <br />Call from Tammy Cook, local rancher near pit - has grazing rights <br />around the pit. She has seen no effect of mining operation on her <br />cattle.
