Drilling is the most commonly-used method. <br />Broadcasting is approved for small reseeding work. <br />Rule 4.1 ~.4 [vlulching and Other Soil Stabilizing Practices <br />In compliance. Manure is used as fertilizer, and a stubble growth crop is used to stabilize the soil <br />(PAP, pages 1 l~ and l Ira). Manure is to be spread on the topsand. The approved seed mix is <br />drill seeded through the manure mulch. Small areas that require reseeding may be broadcast. <br />(Sec 2.0.4, page l 15, line 39). Two windows for seeding are March 15 to June 1 (spring) and <br />September 1 ~ to December 15 (fall) (Sec 2.05.4, page 11 Via, lines 4-6). A stubble mulch (such as <br />sorghum) may be seeded in [he spring or fall prior to seeding of the permanent seed mix (Sec <br />2.0.4, page 1 1 Via, lines 10-1 ~). No irrigation is proposed (Sec 2.0.4, page 11 Sa, line ZS). The <br />site is currently inspected at least quarterly for pests arid diseases. No infestations of pests or <br />weed have been identified. (Sec 2.05.4, page 115a, lines 32-3~; 1998 ARR) <br />Rule 4.15.5 Grazing <br />Incompliance. Grazing is prohibited during the first two years of vegetation establishment on <br />reclaimed areas. Grazing may be allowed thereafrer. Grazing will not be allowed to interfere <br />with vegetation sampling for monitoring or bond release purposes, and eligible areas will not be <br />grazed during the growing season prior to sampling. (Sec 2.0.4, pages 1 1 ~a and 1 1 gib) <br />Rule 4.16.6 Field Trials <br />Incompliance by exception. No test plots have been authorized to date. <br />Rule 4.15.7 Determining Revegetation Success et al <br />Incompliance. Methods of determining revegetation success are presented on pages 116 <br />through 1 166 of the PAP. Vegetation monitoring is described on page 1156 (Sec 2.05.4) of the <br />PAP. Revegetated areas of three or more growing seasons are monitored for success standards, <br />cover, and production. Eligible areas are sampled in the last two consecutive growing seasons <br />prior to final bond release, but not earlier than years nine and ten of the extended liability period. <br />Rule 4.15.8 Revegetation Success Criteria <br />In compliance. Revegetation success criteria is presented on page 1166 of the PAP. <br />Rule 4.15.9 Revegetation Success Criteria: Cropland <br />Incompliance by exception.
