NOTIFICATION OF YOUR RIGHT TO REQUEST A PItE-BLAST SURVEY <br />September 7, 2001 <br />Dear air or Madam: <br />Your home, building or stnroture is located within one-half mile of the boundary of the Lorencito Canyon <br />Mine's petmit number C-96-084, which fe held by Lorencito Coal Company, LLC. Tha Lorencito Canyon <br />Mine is located 20 miles west of Trinidad, Colorado end southeast of Weston, Colorado in Townships 33 <br />and 34 South, Range 66 Weet, Section 33, The corporate address of Lorencito Coal Company, LLC is: <br />Lorencito Coal Company, LLC. <br />4422 Bryan Station Road <br />Lexington, Kmtvcky 40516 <br />Tha Lorencito Canyon M{na w{II incorporate controlled blasting to looem the rook so that it can be <br />removed by mobile equipment, unoovering the underlying coal beds. The bleating operation wit) be <br />directed by a certified blaster. All federal, state, and local regulet{one end guidelines will be followed. Ali <br />blasts will be dealgned to minimize ground vibration and air bloat, and to prevent fly rock. <br />As per the "Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coe1 Mining, Section 4,08,2", <br />the opuator (Lorencito Coel Company, LLC,) is required to provide written notification to all residence or <br />owners of dwellings or other structures ]ocafed within one-half mile o£ the petmit area, explaining how to <br />request epre-bleat survey, The putpoae of a pre•blaet survey is to document the condition of the <br />sttueture(s) and identity any physical factors that could reasonably be affected by the blasting. The survey, <br />if requested, will be completed at your convenience prior to the commencement of bleating operations. The <br />cost of the survey will be the responsibility of Lorencito Coal Company, LLC. A copy of the survey will <br />be provided to you.
