Box 68
Cralp, Colorado 81828
303~a24-8246
November 10, 1994
Janet H. 8inns
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 2i5
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Ms. Binns;
The following items ere being provided as clarification/corrections for the originally
submitted TR package es referenced above. A revised public notice is enclosed, and
reflects the corrected language concerning the amount of disturbance anticipated with
the proposed activity. Hole A94 (DDP 94-001) lies within Section 30, end is the
single development drilling point being addressed by the proposed TR.
As discussed, CEC wishes to correct a few minor errors within the original document
submitted, es there was some confusion on the part of the consultant which prepared
the submittal. The last page of the submittal indicates that the area proposed for
exploration meets the requirements of Rule 2.06.8 due to the area being undeveloped
rangeland, no farming activity, end that an insignificant area would be temporarily
disturbed. As discussed, t„e area proposed is actually a hay meadow area
immediately adjacent to some undeveloped rangeland, and has been irrigated end hay-
cropped in the past. The activities proposed will impact en insignificant area, and
would not interrupt, preclude, or discontinue farming thus satisfying the requirements
of Rule 2.08.8 as outlined. As discussed, the planned disturbance would affect less
than 0.25 acres of AVF area ir,-;mediately adjacent to the undisturbed upland area.
Two different access routes to the site are proposed. The first utilizes existing two-
tracks across CEC property end Axial Basin Ranch property from Round Bottom Road
to the northwest. This route would cross some plowed fields (which again have
existing two-track roads across them) and come down into the Big Bottom area on the
west side of the river. Existing two-tracks would be utilized In the bottom area where-
ever possible, with limited travel overland being anticipated to reach the site.
