Long
Division Dueclor
Re: Cyprus Empire Eagle No. 5 and 9 Mines (C-81-044) Technical Revision No.
25
The Division has received a revision application to the Eagle No. 5 and 9 Mine permit
regarding a development drill hole in the Yampa River AVF, A94. Larry Routten suggested
I route a copy to you to review as well since you are well versed in drilling operations and
concerns.
Although we have until December 2, to get an adequacy letter sent, as you know, CEC has
the drill rig available and hopes to be drilling by around December. So, if you can look at
this in the next few days and send me your comments by maybe the 22nd or 23rd of
November, if not sooner it would be great. If you have any questions, let me know. I will
need the proposed permit pages returned as well.
'Note: One item that I had to question that I need to look into further is, CEC is
proposing to bury the drilling mud at the drill hole site. Since this is in the
AVF and within the 100 year flood plain wouldn't this be a problem? Have
you dealt with similar issues with other drill holes?
Thanks in advance for your help with this, Barbara
cc: Larry Routten
Public File
