(RGI) was retained by Holnam, Inc. (Holnam) to perform a hydrogeologic <br />assessment of the limestone quarry area located at its Portland, Colorado facility. <br />1.1 Purpose and Objective <br />The purpose of the investigation was to evaluate the potential impact of historic cement kiln dust (CI{D) <br />landfilling operations on the ground water at the site. The objective of the investigation was to <br />characterize the local hydrogeologic system at the site. <br />1.2 Scope of Work <br />The scope of work for this investigation included the following: <br />• Perform a literature search for information on the geology/hydrogeology of the site <br />• Conduct a water well survey <br />• Install three (3) new monitoring wells at the site, one (1) upgradient and two (2) downgradient <br />• Perform geologic field mapping <br />• Sample and analyze CKD/sludge and ground water <br />• Perform hydraulic conductivity testing <br />• Prepare a Hydrogeologic Assessment Report. <br /> <br />
