12. On approved page Z.O.i-90. in Section Z.O.i.6(6)(Jj(iii)(6). it is stated thcu "support
pillars wiN be leJi in place under Pond P-1 and near the outcrop. " Hniverer. ar
proposed revised pcrgc 2.0~-9?, "and near the outcrop "has been deleted %ronr this
sentence. Please ju.r[ifv this deletion as it relates to possible subsidence-induced
landslides and their effect on the pro[ection of irrigation di[ches and rocreLr irr Terror
Creek and H:rbbcu•d Creek. especially since the need for this limited extraction barrier
has been established, as slated on pages 26 and ~2 of E.rhibit 13.
The operator stated that revised pages 2.0~-97 and 2.0~-100 were submitted to clarify the
limited extraction barrier. However, only revised page 2.0~-100 was submitted. Please
submit revised page 2.0~-97.
13. In Section 2.0.5.6(3)(b)(iv), on proposed revised page 2.O.i-76, it is slated that there will
be downstream hydrologic monitoring of the Sheep Corral, Dove and Iron Poin[ Gzrlches.
Please explain why there will not be any upstream hydrologic monitoring of these
gulches, as is the case for the hydrologic monitoring of the other gulches in the permit
area.
The Division has no further concerns. The operator submitted revised page 2.05-76,
which indicates upstream hydrologic monitoring points are located in Sheep Corral and
Dove gulches. Iron Point Gulch does appeaz to be too faz north of mining to justify an
upstream monitoring station.
ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS
14. On proposed revised page 36 of Exhibit 1 S, it is stated that the results of any s:rbsidence-
related damage monitoring of stock ponds will be documented in the Annual Subsidence
and Hydrology Report. The Division requests that, in addition, the Division be notified
tivithin ten (IO) days if any subsidence-related pond damage is discovered Ijyou agree,
please revise page 36 of Exhibit 1 ~.
15. On proposed revised page 40 of Exhibit 1 S, it is stated that the results of any subsidence-
related damage monitoring of springs will be documented in the Annual Subsidence and
Hydrology Report. The Division requests that, in addition, the Division be notifred
within ten (10) days if any subsidence-related spring damage is discovered /f you agree,
please revise page 40 of Exhibit l.i.
l6. On proposed revised page 4~ of Exhibit 1 S, it is stated that persons using trails will be
informed of any known subsidence-related hazards. The Division requests that Botivie
post appropriate signs on roads and trails informing all users that a subsidence hazard
may exist.
