~, *~~
October 26, 1982
Mr. Mark Loyo
1 Paga 2
Exhibit E
Please refer to my comments under the technical revision to the
Buffalo rl Mina.
Exhibit F
Reference my comments above concerning Elbert County zoning approval.
Exhibit H
Please note I have included the entire 9.9 acre in the smoothing. This
smoothing will include the placement of the calcined clay over the
surfaces that do not need topsoil. I have stated earlier that the
calcined clay was overcast pre-law so that the disturbed edges of this
entire mining area consist of calcined clay. The spreading of the
calcined clay can be simply done by rounding these edges and then
spreading the excess calcined clay from these edges .over the area
needing the calcine cover. This would require a minimal push by the
dozer and would ba very inexpensive. You have stated earlier that the
area needs to remain fairly uneven which would further reduce the costs
of smoothing since the lima needed for the grader would be reduced.
You also show that six inches of topsoil was used in your calculations.
Nowhere in this area is there evidence of six inches of topsoil. I
J suggest that a more reasonable figure would be three inches of topsoil.
If this amount were spread over the maximum area to be topsoiled of
two acres, and using your high cost figured of $.60/yard, the total
cost of reclamation still would not increase my previously submitted
estimate over the present j2,000 bond. Therefore, I would oppose any
increase to the existing bond on this permit.
If you have any questions concerning this letter, please feel free to
contact ma.
Sincaroly,
THE ROBINSON BRICK C /iPANY
,C/ iZiZ~O~e.~°"
Michael C.
