6. Nearest Town: The Town of Lyons is located approximately 1.5 miles
west of the proposed mining azea.
7. Existing Vegetation and Land Use: The property is currently used for pasture
and hay production. Vegetation in the azea proposed
for development primazily consists of vazious grasses.
Riparian habitats are found adjacent to St. Vrain Creek.
However, these azeas lies outside proposed mining and
disturbance azeas.
8. Proposed Final Land Use: Western Mobile has entered into a contract to sell its
Lyons real estate to Boulder County following mining
and reclamation. Therefore, the proposed final land use
will be open space, passive recreation and education.
The reclamation will include open water (100 acres),
wetlands (120 acres), and uplands (258 acres).
