The Colorado Division of Wildlife would suggest that a 50' buffer be placed around any large
cottonwood trees within the mined area tv prevent coot damage, which would impact the trees' health.
Also in the areas not conducive to irrigation, it would be a benefit ro the wildlife if some type of shrub
species were added ro the ariz. The Division of Wildlife would recommend including sagebmsh, antelope bitter
bnrsh, four wing salt bush, or atountain mahogany inter the mix.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Si-n-c~erel_y/, / / ~
Bill de Vergie
Area Wildlife Manager
Montrose
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, Greg E Walther, E~a.Nve Diresfar
WILDLIFE COMMISSION.
