1

' Earthquake And Seismicity Data
' Most of the Western Colorado lies in a seismic zone 1
classification, signifying a low seismic risk where earthquakes
classified as VI or less in intensity may occur. Active faults
' flank the Uncompaghre Plateau and the age of movement is
Quaternary; however, movement is very slight with long periods of
' inactivity. It was this inactively that led some geologist to
conclude that the Uncompaghre was not currently rising.
' Recently, an earthquake occurred west of Dallas Divide Pass on a
fault separating the Uncompaghre Plateau from the San Juan
' Mountains. The earthquake was most pronounced in the Ridgeway,
Telluride, Ouray, Norwood and Nucla communities, however, no
significant damage occurred.
1
Utilities And Obstructions
' Pursuant to Construction Materials Rule 6, paragraph 6.4.19
exhibit S 115 (4)(e) mining operations are to remain 200' or more
' from any significant, valuable and permanent man-made structures
unless it can be demonstrated the mining operation will not
' adversely affect the stability of those structures. An electric line is present on the property
' transgressing from County Road 44 north by north-east on the west
side of the current Phase I disturbance to a residence located on
' the proposed Phase V production. The house is connected to the
water and telephone line in County Road 44 at the northwest
corner of the property. Presently, construction equipment is
' being stored on the north-west portion of current Phase I
production and the south-west corner of proposed Phase V
' production. Various fences transgress the property, including
the property boundaries on the north, south, west and east. The
' southwest corner of the parcel (south of W 1/4 corner of Section
13) located in current Phase I disturbance includes a constructed

9
