Mr. Carl Mount
Division of Minerals & Geology
January 8, 1999
Page 2
The second revision involves undulations to the shoreline of mining cell two. The shoreline of
the lake will have a series of shoals and coves (undulations). We have retained the 50 foot ./
setback between State Highway 9 and the edge of [he mining.
These undulations will be constructed by leaving aggregate resource in place, by the placing of
overburden soils, and by the importation of clean fill. The DMG will be given proper,
notification for any import and placement of fill.
Exhibit F with this letter shows the undulations as a permanent feature of the reclamation plan.
Side slopes on the reclaimed lakes will be according to DMG regulation. That is, from above the
water to ten feet below the waterline the slopes will be at 3:1~ and 2:1 from ten feet below the
waterline to the floor of the excavation.
Please call us if you have any questions during the review of this Technical Revision. You will
note that these changes do not increase [he size of the disturbed area in the permit nor do they
increase the reclamation liability of the operator.
Cordially,
TUTTLE APPLEGATE, INC.
~i~ ~~~
Gary J.
