EXHIBIT E: Reclamation Plan
The Reclamation Plan and planned end use for the site are the reason for the requested
Amendment. Lafarge, on behalf of the owner, has been requested to alter the reclamation plan
from the current planned end use of agricultural to an end use that will be consistent with the
Eagle County Master Plan for the Fairgrounds. The owners have requested Lafarge to contour
and reclaim the site in such a. manner that will minimize the additional work needed by the y
County to complete the Master Plan.
The affected areas will be reclaimed as open areas consistent with the Eagle County Master Plan
for the Fairgrounds site. This plan currently calls fora "mixed" use of trails, hiking, fishing,
open space, athletic fields, equestrian areas, parking lots, etc. A detailed description of the Eagle
County Master Plan's objective for the site can be found in the Eagle County Publication
"RECREATION MASTER PLANS" dated February 28, 2001. The side slopes will be regarded
at a 3:1 slope, the floor of the excavation will have approximately a 2 percent slope towards the
river with 4 inches to 8 inches of topsoil added. This is the same general plan that was used in
AREA A to the east.
Adequate topsoil for reclamation should be available for the agricultural areas from lands
initially stripped prior to the extraction process. If needed, additional topsoil can be obtained
from construction projects in the area that have excess fill material. The seed mix and
application rates to be used for the reclamation are the same as those currently being used
elsewhere on the site.
