EXHIBIT D: Mining Plan
Mining will occur as a year-round operation and will begin on the western end of AREA D and
progress in an easterly direction. By beginning mining at the western end of the parcel, we are
better able to make more efficient use of our existing facilities and eliminate the need to
constmct a separate haul road. In addition, this will.ltelp to decrease the total disturbed-area-on --
the site.
Mining will begin with the stripping of topsoil and overburden from the area immediately
adjacent to AREA B. The topsoiUoverburden stockpiles will be located at the top of the slope on
the northern edge of AREA D. We will extract and crash gravel from an open face, as the
product is needed, which is the same method as has been used on the site for mining the other
areas. Earth moving equipment, crosherJconveyorequiprnent, and haul tracks will be used to
extract, process, and load the material from AREA D. Material stockpiles will be located in the
existing mine area. The impacts from extracting and processing the gravel from AREA D will
not be any greater or more significant than those currently occurring. Transportation of the
material will be through the existing access point at the north end of AREA B along the paved
Fairgrounds Road.
