i
C
When an area has been regraded the stored topsoil
will be spread at a depth averaging at least 6 inches.
The topsoil will be seeded using the recommended seed
mixture of the Soil Conservation Service. (Exhibit I)
Fertilizing will occur at the rate also recommended by
SCS. After seeding a clean straw or hay mulch will be
applied to the seeded area and crimped into the soil at
a rate of 1'~ tons per acre.
Final contours of the land to be affected by this
application will find the perimeter at pre-mining eleva-
tion with a gentle slope into the center of the property.
The low area at center will fall toward the south drain-
ing into the previously mined area as depicted in the
• reclamation plan map, Exhibit F.
A stock watering pond is to be included in the
final reclamation of the property and it will be located
as shown on the reclamation plan map. The size of the
pond will be slightly over one acre with a depth of
approximately five feet. Slopes in the area of the pond
will be no steeper than 3:1. It is anticipated that the
pond will be fed by the Hogue Spring N5 and used by the
Hogues for stock watering and other agricultural uses.
Willows or other phreatophytes will be planted along
the banks of the pond. The remainder of the reclaimed
area will be used for grazing of livestock.
•
