<br />BRL submitted a letter from CDOT, dated August 30, 1999, that states that CDOT grants <br />permission to 13RL to revise the culverts under old State Highway 133. However, CDOT <br />also states that maintenance and repair of the culverts is the responsibility of BRL. The <br />Division requests that BRL acknowledge this responsibility as revised text in the permit <br />application. <br />12. On :Clop No. 2.1-1, arrows indicate that the proposed coal stockpile pad will be sloped <br />for drainage. .8ecnuse ojthe importance ojdrainage in this par[icular area, please <br />provide a specified value for this slope that will ensure positive drainnge. <br />The Division has no further concerns. Map 21-1 was modified in the submittal dated <br />May 12, 1999 [o show a 2 percent grade towazds the south. <br />13. In the table on proposed revised page 2.0~-72, a TDS value oj1=18 is used jor the <br />combinedJlow. However, it appears that this value should be 16/. Please check this <br />calculation and revise the table ijnecessary. <br />The Division h.as no further concerns. The submittal, dated May 12, 1999, revised page <br />2.05-73 so that. the chart on that page uses a more recently obtained TDS value of 160. <br />14. It appears that [he title for Map 21-3, entitled `it'fine Facilities'; should be `Drainage <br />Plans. "Please provide a revise Map 21-3, ijyou agree. <br />The Division has no further concerns. The title was changed on Map 21-3 in the submittal <br />dated May 12, 1999. <br />I5. Please add appropriate sediment trap notations to Map 21-1 jor the SAE at the entrance <br />to the mine sitE°. <br />The Division has no further concerns. Map 21-1 was revised in the submittal dated May <br />12, 1999 to show the sediment trap notations. <br />16. Please explain the nature ojthe disturbance a[ the proposed new entrance to the mine <br />si[e, that would necessitate a small area exemption. Is the disturbance necessary and <br />would any coal be involved? <br />The Division has no further concerns. BRL explained, in their submittal dated May 12, <br />1999, that the disturbance involves only cut and fill slopes and a small portion of the <br />proposed haul road. <br />17. The approved iLlap 21-1, 'Drainage Plans'; shows existing culverts under Old Highway <br />133 that do not appear on proposed revised Map 21-1 as part ojthe proposed revised <br />drainage plan:r. What will become ojthese other culverts and how do they enter into the <br />
