BB is not nearly <br />as bad as I remembered after my initial site visit. <br />• The lafitude/longitude data provided by the applicant on the application <br />form does not properly field locate the site. Please review the location and <br />provide the accurate coordinates to locate the site. <br />The software used to determine latitude/longitude is Maptech, which <br />provides Iatitude/longitude based on IISGS quad sheets. In re-checking the <br />point close to the entrance to the pit area, I get approximately the same <br />numbers provided in the origina- applicafion. The numbers I obtained in re- <br />checking are N 40.40182, W 102.37777. <br />3. Rule 6.3.3 Exhibit C - Minine Plan <br />• The applicant states that the topsoil piles will be seeded to prevent soil <br />erosion. Please specify the slopes of the topsoil piles, the seed mixture <br />and the method and application rate for seeding the piles. <br />Stockpiles of topsoil will not be sloped. The topsoil will be removed and piled <br />to make it easily accessible for reclamation. The topsoil piles will be seeded <br />with brome grass at an approximate seeding rate of 3#/acre. The seed will be <br />broadcast. <br />• Please state the anticipated slopes of the pit during the mining operation <br />and indicate the direction of mining on one of the exhibits. <br />Mining will occur so that the minimum amount of additional dirt work is <br />required for reclamation to occur. Direction of mining will be from south to <br />north as shown on the attached exhibit E -Mining Plan. <br />• Please depict the location of any oiUgas lines on one of the exhibits. <br />There is a gas line running between the gas well lying outside the permitted <br />area to the meter houses actually located on the site. AU three items -the gas <br />line, the gas well, and the meter houses whvater storage lie outside the area to <br />be affected by mining activity. <br />4. Rule 6.3.4 Exhibit D -Reclamation Plan <br />The applicant states that the pit will be used as a tail water pit for rua off <br />water and providing water for wildlife. Please explain the water rights <br />associated with the capture and storage of the water in the pit. Please also <br />explain how the pit will be lined to hold water and prevent seepage. <br />
