We specifically discussed
the Raton Creek reclamation and Notice of Violation situation. I emphasized to George that we
need to resolve the pending reclamation and violation issues at the Raton Creek Mine. I asked if
there has been any progress by Energy Fuels to resolve the reclamation plan for the south facing
slope which is the subject of both a minor revision and Notice of Violation.
George Patterson informed me that he will be meeting with Brian Munson in the next few days to
determine the amount of money that EFCI is willing to expend on the project_
George indicated that he has been trying to locate a local source of manure, but has not been
successful to date. He indicated that he is still working to locate a local source.
George stated that EFCI has retained David Buckner to assist in determining the best possible
reclamation plan for the site.
George has previously acknowledged to me that the reclamation on the south facing slope needs
additional work.
I told George that we need to resolve the reclamation plan issues very soon and that the work also
needs to occur as soon as possible. I stated that if the plan (MR) can be resolved within the next 2
to 3 weeks, then I would be willing to recommend that the NOV be vacated. I offered that we
would be willing to meet with George, Brian Munson and/or Buckner to assist in resolving the
issues.
