Letter to David Berry
Southfield Bond Estimate 1/19/95
Page 2
EFCI used several cost information sources. The Caterpillar Handbook and Dataquest, Inc. -
Cost Reference Guide (CRG) were utilized for estimating unit costs for heavy equipment as
the best references currently available for the purpose. Means Site Work Cost Data 1989
(MCD), has been utilized as the basis for determining bulkhead (concrete block) construction
costs because it is generally consistent with recent contractor quotations. Due to the variety of
task and uncertainties in estimating demolition costs EFCI requested Bradley Metals Co. Inc.
Canon City, to prepare and submit a bid for demolition of all existing facilities including the
disposal of all concrete on site.
EFCI has submitted partial responses to adequacy questions to TR-20 -Bond Issues. Approval
of this technical revision will resolve all outstanding questions of the bond estimate for the
Southfield Mine. EFCI anticipates approval of TR-20 on or before March 1, 1995, based on
the scope of work to prepare appropriate responses, and hereby requests this as the revision
decision date.
If you have any questions or require further information please contact Tom Leidich or me at
your convenience.
Sincerely,
Energy Fuels Coal, lnc.
Allen S.
