These responses are provided in comment'/ response
format for your review.
Comment:
A A map showing exactly where the work will be conducted. Provide representative,
relative locations of the contour furrows, relative to the areas ofinter-seeding.
Response:
Although the limited location for constructing furrows and interseeding are evident
from numerous inspection reports and other correspondence pertaining to the "non-
topsoiled, poorly vegetated area in the northeast section of the reclaimed area", EFMC
is providing a proposed work location map. The map is included in the permit
application as a reference for the work proposed only in fall, 1999. Copies of the map
are included with [his response for placement in the permit application.
Comment:
B. Strip seeding ofan approved perennial grass-dominated seed mix. Cicer milkvetch
should be eliminated from this inter-seeding mix.
Response:
EFMC is proposing a revised, grass-dominated seed mix, shown as the 'inter-seeding
seed mixture', that contains significantly lower percentages of shrub and milkvetch
seeds compared to the approved seed mixture. Copies of the proposed seed mixture
are included with this response for placement in the permit application.
